Do YOU work here?
I work in a drug store and the one question (besides "where's the bathroom") that bugs the crap out of me every time is one that people don't even have to ask. "Uhh, excuse me...do you work here?" When I put in my two weeks notice I won't be so nice and say "yes ma'am" instead I'll say "Oh, no ma'am, I just enjoy matching the uniform of the store I'm currently shopping in." I wonder how they'll like that? Then I'll continue putting things on the shelf and doing regular things that people who don't work there do.

I know how you feel. I work at a concert venue on weekends. People tend to overlook my flashlight, name tag and the giant word STAFF on my shirt. "Um...Do you work here?"
I should start asking them the same.
Since you're going to have fun with your last two weeks, maybe you should just give these people some flippant responses.
"Do you work here?" You look around confused and say, "where am I?"
"Do you work here?" "meow..." and paw at your face.
Haha. I'd act like I was deaf and point to my ears and do a bad attempt to sign at them. =P
ha, I would do the same. I get asked that a lot, too. And for some reason they always get mad when I reply "Are you blind ? Yeah, I work here."

I get that a lot, ironically enough when you say no. they go on to ask "then what are you doing here?", "your wearing the uniform and you can't help me? you're useless". that's when i rebut (in my head) that they're useless for feigning not knowing i work their. little asshats need to shut their mouths before they infect me with their dumb shit. it's touchy issue for me...
next time just sack the next moron that asks the question. wont solve the epidemic of stupidity, but will make you feel better about yourself
